Mrs. Bessie J. McCann, 82, of MacFarland Road, a private duty nurse before retiring in 1980, died today, April 12, 1988, in Rome Hospital after a long illness. Born Feb. 16, 1906 in Taberg, she was a daughter of Benjamin and Alice Mansfield Armstrong. On Nov. 26, 1953 she married George McCann in Pittsburgh, Pa. He died Sep. 3, 1970. Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Bertha Bennett, Kodiak, Alaska, Mrs. Alice O'Dell and Mrs. Edward (Mable) Marggi, both of Westmoreland, and a brother Elmer Armstrong, Lee Center. She was predeceased by a son, James Fox. Services will be held Thursday at the Nunn & Harper Funeral Home. Burial in Maple Hill Cemetery.
