Camden - Wallace L. "Wally" Wolcott, 87, of Railroad Street, died Wednesday, November 8, 1994 at the Masonic Home in Utica, where he had been a resident since July 1994.

He was born in new Hartford on August 14, 1907, the son of Harry and Amelia Swanson Wolcott, and had attended schools in Oriskany Falls and had lived in Camden since 1932. On August 17, 1940, he married Arlene Kent in Camden.

Mr. Wolcott retired in 1969 from the Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation in Camden as a line foreman after 45 years of service. He was a member of the Camden United Methodist Church, a former officer of the Friends of Forest Park, co-founder of the Camden Rod and Gun CLub and was active in its membership for over 48 years.

Mr. Wolcott was an avid hunter, fisherman and expert woodsman. In 1989 he was inducted into the New York State Outdoorsman Hall of Fame. Mr. Wolcott was also a master carpenter.

Surviving besides his wife, are one daughter and son-in-law, Lynette and Edward Rood of Camden, one son and daughter-in-law, David and Kathleen Wolcott of McConnellsville, four granddaughters, Ama and Kimberly Rood and Heidi and Karen Wolcott, seven sisters, Norma Fowler, June McIntosh and Joyce Lampert, all of Saratoga Springs, Vera Wolcott of Schuylerville, Ferne Wolcott of New Orleans, La, Virginia WOlcott of Atlantic City, NJ, and Audrey Murphy of Waitesfiled, VT, two brothers, Willard of Camden and Russell of Whitwell, Tenn., and one brother-in-law William Reischel of Glens Falls. He was predeceased by two sisters, Pearl Snyder and Ruth Reichel.
