Ely, Maude Mae TannerRome Sentinel
February 15, 1918Mrs. Maude May Tanner, aged 31, wife of Roy H. Ely, died at her home in Oneida at 10:30 o'clock Thursday forenoon after a short illness with Bright's disease. She was a daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Albert Tanner of this city and was born here on Sept. 9, 1886. In this city 14 years ago she was married to Mr. Ely and five years ago they removed to Oneida where Mr. Ely was engaged in the cigar business. While residing in Rome she attended the First M. E. Church and Sunday school. She is survivied by her husband, one daughter, Neva Belle Ely of Oneida, her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Albert Tanner of Rome, and two sisters, Mrs. George Bungert of this city and Mrs. James Ramsey of Bridgewater. Mrs. Ely was an estimable young woman and her many friends will regret to learn of her death. The remains were brought to this city and taken to the home of her sister, Mrs. George Bungert, 104 S. Madison St. Mr. Ely has the sympathy of his many friends. Last Wendnesday at his home occurred the funeral of his sister, Mrs. Ninn Dougherty, who made her home with him. Interment was made in Wright Settlement Cemetery.
