Erma D. Whitmeyer, 88, formerly of Canastota, died Feb. 5, at Hospice of Martin & St. Lucie Residence, Stuart, Florida. She was born in Altmar, lived in the Whitelaw area and spent most of her life in the Canastota area. She had lived with her daughter in Port St. Lucie, Fla, since 1998. She worked for several years at A & P Grocery Store, Canastota, and was a member of Whitelaw Presbyterian Church. Her husband of 55 years, Howard W., died in 1986. A son, Louis H. died in 1979. Survivors are four daughters, Doris Mason of Canastota, Jane Bowman of St. Cloud, Florida, Judy Hazen of Port St. Lucie, Florida and Ann Whitmeyer of Alpharetta, Ga., two sons, Rev. J. Eugene of Tucker, Ga., and Richard F. of High Point, NC, a brother, Arnold Juno of Virginia, 28 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren. Services Friday in Whitelaw Presbyterian Church, N. Main St., Whitelaw, Burial in Lenox Rural Cemetery.
