HOW TO GET A DAWES CENSUS CARD AND/OR ENROLLMENT JACKET

Dawes Census Cards - $1.00 per page
Dawes Application Packets - up to 10 pages, $5.00, then $0.50 per page
Note:Please do not send any money with your request. We will invoice you for copies an/or work done

Dawes Case Files 
To request copies of a Dawes case file, indicate that the case is a Dawes 
Enrollment Jacket. You must provide the name of the enrollee, the tribe, the 
category ("by blood," "minor," "rejected," "freedmen," etc.), enrollment 
number (if applicable), and census card number. Requests without this 
information can not be processed. Copies cost $10 per census card number up 
to 20 pages and $0.50 per page thereafter. Payment can be made by check, 
money order, or credit card. Do not send cash. Payment must be exact, so 
credit card payments generally are the most convenient. 

Please make your requests in writing. Requests are accepted via fax, e-mail, 
or regular mail. 

Within the United States, overnight delivery is available for an extra $4.00. 
Please state in your request that you would like this feature and provide 
your street address and phone number. Please NOTE: No P.O. Box numbers are 
accepted.

THE DAWES ROLLS ON CD

NOW AVAILABLE ON CD ROM: THE NATIVE AMERICAN COLLECTION
This valuable compilation produced by the Friends of the Oklahoma Historical Society Archives, GenRef, Inc., the Archives staff, and volunteers contains the Dawes Final Rolls with the names of the citizens and freedmen of the Five Civilized Tribes of Indian Territory. The CD also contains scanned versions of three rare and out of print books. If purchased just one of these books (D.C. Gideon's Indian Territory: Descriptive Biographical and Genealogy published in 1901) would sell for $750.00. In addition, H.F. and E.S. O'Beirnes' The Indian Territory: Its Chiefs, Legislators, and Leading Men (1892) as well as Paul W.H. Dewitz's Notable Men of Indian Territory , (1904-1905) is included. Chilocco Indian School records are also available, as well as 1896 Dawes Enrollment Applications; Dawes Rejected Names.

Dawes Rolls and Guion Miller rolls for Cherokee, Choctaw, Chickasaw, Seminole, and Creek.
