MRS. LONG DIES HERE ON FRIDAY 5/3/73
Mrs. Dora Frances Long, 83 died Friday afternoon in Madill, She was a lifelong resident of this region, having been born November 3, 1889, at Blue Ribbon, I.T., in what is now Bryan county.
Funeral services for Mrs. Long were conducted Monday afternoon from the Cumberland Baptist church where she had been a member for many years. Rev Bill Wheat. Church pastor....
Rev. Clifford Jones, ... Church of the Nazarene... Rev. Wheat was also in charge of the singing.
Moving to Aylesworth as a young girl, Mrs. Long became the bride of John Churchwell Long there. They continued to make their home in Aylesworth region for 35 years.
Mr. Long died March 27,..... She moved to Cumberland in 1843 and lived there the remainder of her life.
Her survivors include sons, Albert of Ardmore, ............. and Alvin Long both of Cumberland; two daughters, Wilma Soliday of Madill and Mrs. Burtle Duncan of Cumberland.
Also surviving are ........ brothers, Fred Smith of Bismark, MO., and Leonard Smith of Yontville, Calif. one sister , Mrs. Minnie Mayberry of Kermit, Tex., 24 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren.
Burial was in the Cumberland cemetery with Watts Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Pallbearers for the services were A.J......................, Danny Duncan, Albert .............., Johnnie and Paul Long..............Wayne Newman.
