IN MEMORY:
Dortha Geraldine Large Amos, age 81 of loudon, passed away
Tuesday, February 25, 2003, at the home of her daughter. She was born in Niota,
Tennessee August 16, 1921, to Charlie and Viola Forrester Large. She
attended White Wing Nazarene Church. Past DAR Regent of General William
Lenoir Chapter, Gerry, a descendnat of Campbell Station founder, David Campbell,
was very active in genealogy, including the Heritage Books for loudon, McMinn,
Monroe and Roan Counties. She participated in many Scottish festivals. She
was preceded in death by parents; brothers, Louis Ross Large and Charles Wayburn
Large. She is survived by children: James Ross Amos of Lenoir City, Mildred
Jeanne Burdell of Erlanger, KY, Joyce "Joy" Yvonne Morgan, and Gillis
of Lenoir City, and Marilyn Janette Gibson of Erlanger, KY; grandchildren,
Cynthia Johnson and husband, David, Tracy Amos, Catherine Cornn and husband,
Joseph, and their mother, Janice Harmon Amos all of Harrison, OH, Rachel Zermeno
of Lenoir City, John Burdell of Amelia, OH, Christopher Gibson adn wife, Tammy
of Grand Junction, CO; step-grandchildren, Major Robert Curee, U. S. Armuy, Tami
Dapper of Amelia, OH, and Sharon Hollins of New Richmond, OH;
great-grandchildren: Anthony and Daniel Johnson, Logan Cornn, Jessica Gibson and
her mother, Tammy. Samuel Gibson, Rachel Burdell, Sara dn Nicholas
Stewart; auth, Mary Large of Niota; cousins Mell and Rahel Holbrook of Loudon,
Robert and Helen Large of kNoxville, Marie and Lille Mae Large, Catherine and
John Wilson all of NIota, Barbara Benton and Joe Mize of Plant City, FL, Imogene
Burkhard of Knoxville and Priscilla Palmer of Oak Ridge; several other cousins,
nieces and nephews; special friiend, June Hensley and other dear friends who
were blessed to have know her and whose friendship she cherished.
Funeral services were held at 7 p.m. Friday, February 28, 2003 in the Click
Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.. Greg Harper officiating. Family and friends
will gather at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Niota Cemetery for graveside services and
interment. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to White
Wing Nazarene Church Building Fund or the chairity of your choice.
