Mother and Son Die In One Vehicle Rollover

CLYDE  --  An Abilene mother and her 14 year old son died when their Ford pickup rolled over Monday afternoon.  The accident happened on FM 604 north of Clyde. According to the DPS, 35 year old Cheryl Payne lost control of her truck...it left the roadway...and rolled at least five times. Payne and her son, Cody Long, were ejected from the vehicle. Neither were wearing seatbelts. The boy died at the scene. Payne died in route to the hospital. A DPS Trooper says the truck was seen at a What-A-Burger restaurant just minutes before the accident and the woman may have been eating when she lost control.
