PROCK
My 3rd great-grandfather was Preston Prock the son of
William Rufus Prock and Agatha Maul. Preston was born in
November of 1823 in Monroe CO., Tennessee. About 1845 when Preston was
about 22 he married his first cousin Rebecca Prock the daughter of
Elijah Prock and Abagail Cogburn. Preston and Abagail had a son
William H. Prock born about 1846. Sometime between 1846 and 1850
the PROCK family moved from Tennessee to Wright Co., Missouri. There son
John Prock was born. Rebecca died in April of 1850 at the age of 25.
About 1853 Preston married Hannah 'Anna' Jane (Bales) Todd,
a widow with 8 children. Preston and Anna had two girls together;
Anna Jane born about 1854 (my 2nd great-grandmother) and Susan
Martha Prock.
