“from each individual
additional intelligence regarding this awful accident, and particular enquiry
was instituted relative to the position and condition of the remaining boats.”
“Some difficulty has been
experienced herein from the fact of the crew being strangers to the ship,
and also from the deficiency
of knowledge about the boats by the engineers and
others whose duty was
confined to the machinery”.
