As the coastal tanker EMPIRE RUBY for the Ministry of War Transport.

1946 sold to Athel Line (United Molasses Co., London); renamed ATHELRUBY.

1947  11th September: While the SCOTTISH HEATHER was receiving a cargo of molasses at Demerara, Trinidad from the ATHELRUBY, the mooring lines broke, and the ATHELRUBY collided violently with the SCOTTISH HEATHER.

1950 sold to F. T. Everard & Sons, Greenhithe renamed AKINITY

1964 29th February: Damaged in collision with the Norwegian motor vessel SKRIM in thick fog off South Goodwin Sands. Sold to A.E. Peirce, Canvey Island. Resold to Metaal Handel & Sloopwerken H.P. Heuvelman, Krimpen aan den Ijssel, Netherlands. Resold to Brugse Scheepsloperij for breaking up.

1965 scrapped at Bruges, Belgium.
