Returned to her owners 1919;

October 1919  Scarborough owners.

December 1926 bought by Sir Thomas Robinson .

1926 Registered as GY 401

1939 Mercantile Loss; sunk by U-59; 28th October, with no loss of life.

The first Grimsby trawler sunk in WWII

 

28th October 1939

03.15 German submarine U-59 stopped Hull trawler ST. NIDAN.

Warning shots were fired and the crew were ordered to leave.

04.25 LYNX II appeared, heading towards the fishing grounds.

U-59 fired three shots at the bridge.

LYNX II stopped and the crew left in the boat.

06.55 LYNX II was sunk with demolition charges; Position 59°50N : 04°20W

08.30 ST NIDAN was sunk with charges.
