The family can be traced back to Robert Millett, secretary to Admiral Sir

sons was Humphry Millett mercer of Penzance; one of his daughters married
Robert Davy; They were the parents of Sir Humphrey Davy. When Humphry and
Elizabeth Millett died, their children were looked after by the Tonkin family.
There is also a connection by marriage to the Fry family of Penzance; Joseph
Fry first appeared in Penwith in 1768.
