Kirsten Flagstad, the world renowned Wagnerian Opera singer (New York Metropolitan Opera House), is a cousin of mine. Specifically, she is my third cousin twice removed (I know this because LegacyFamilyTree tells me that).

I discovered that she is famous enough in Norway that she is on the 100 Kroner bill and two stamps from Norway (I believe she is also on stamps from other countries, but I do not have images). The front of the bill has her likeness on it, and the back of the bill has a drawing of an opera house. I'm not sure if this is the New York Met or the Norwegian National Opera, which she was the first General Manager of. The first stamp shows her playing Isolde in "Tristan and Isolde", and on the second stamp Elsa in "Lohengrin". Here are images of the bill, which I got and used with permission from http://aes.iupui.edu/rwise/countries/norway.html, and the stamps, which I got and used with permission from http://home7.c2i.net/amd/norwomen/flagstad.htm:

Stamp of Kristen as Isolde in Tristan and Isolde        Front of Norwegian 100 Kroner bill showing Kirsten        Stamp of Kristen as Elsa in Lohengrin

My first cousin twice removed Winfield Forsberg wrote an essay on Great Great Grandmother Peterson back in 1930 and retyped it to share with the family.

My third cousin twice removed was the world renowned Wagnerian Opera singer Kirsten Flagstad (1895-1962) from Norway. She sang at the New York Metropolitan Opera House.

I have my Father's cadet book from flight school in the Korean War era Air Force. It is from Ellington AFB, marked "52-24" which I assume means 1952, class 24. It is similar to high school yearbooks.
