Olmpic Trivia Work on the Montreal Velodrome for the 1976 Olympic Games began on August 27, 1973, and on February 16, 1975, the support arches used during the construction of the roof of this truly unique building were dismantled. As the months went by, the work went ahead full steam. But in May of 1975, the workers went on strike and it was not until the following October 26 that they returned to the work site.
