Soft Molasses Cookies

1/2 teaspoon |

1/4 teaspoon |
baking soda |
1 3/4 cups |
flour, unsifted |
1/3 cups |
water |
1/2 teaspoon |
vinegar |
1 tablespoon |
soft butter |
1/4 teaspoon |
vanilla |
1/8 teaspoon |
salt |
2 cups |
sifted confectioners' sugar |
2 1/2 tablespoons |
lemon juice |

Makes 4 dozen. |

Cream butter, gradually add brown sugar.
Add egg, beat well.
Blend in molasses, baking powder, ginger, cinnamon, salt, soda.
Combine water and vinegar.
Add flour and water/vinegar alternately to butter mixture.
Combine soft butter, vanilla, salt, confectioners' sugar
and lemon juice.
Mix for a thin glaze.
Drop cookie batter onto greased baking sheet.
Preheat oven to 350�F.
Bake 10 minutes.
Garnish when warm.
