Eva E. Pleger, 71, of 1211/2 E. Bissell Ave., Oil City, died at 1:30 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2001, in the West Unit of Northwest Medical Center at Franklin. Born Feb. 3, 1930, in Dempseytown, she was a daughter of Roy and Doris Spangler Moyer. She was a graduate of Oil City High School and had lived her entire life in the Oil City area. Mrs. Pleger was employed for more than 10 years at McDonald's Restaurant in Oil City. She attended the Church of the Living God in Franklin. Mrs. Pleger enjoyed crocheting, gardening and her grandchildren. She was married July 29, 1954, to Paul L. Pleger, who died June 2, 1995. Surviving are her mother, Doris Spangler Moyer of Oil City; four daughters, Mrs. Nicholas (Martha) Shearer of Norfolk, Va., Mrs. Michael (Paula) Lacheney of Dallas, Texas, Juanita Krupitzer of Titusville RD and Lisa Pleger of Butler; three sons, Daniel E. Pleger of Bremerton, Wash., and Gregory D. Pleger and Dean L. Pleger, both of Oil City; and 19 grandchildren. She also is survived by three sisters, Retta Cavanaugh of Oil City, Ruby Bunch of Clarion and Lois Tubo of Florida. Mrs. Pleger was preceded in death by her father; her husband; a brother, Bert Moyer; and a sister, Beverly Creese. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Hutchinson Funeral Home, 201 Bissell Ave., Oil City. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with Pastor Dan Murray of the Church of the Living God, Franklin, officiating. Interment will be in Brandon Cemetery. Getting it right - Myrtle M. "Peggy" Smith, 89, formerly of Towne Towers, Oil City, died Friday, June 15, 2001, in Clarion Hospital. A memorial service for Mrs. Smith will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, June 23, in the First United Methodist Church of Clarion.

Geary Cecil Bigley, 82, formerly of North Third Avenue, Clarion, died Saturday, June 16, 2001, in the Mariner Nursing Center in Glen Burnie, Md. Born March 10, 1919, he was a son of John and Catherine Reed Bigley. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Bigley formerly worked at the Owens-Illinois Glass Plant in Clarion. He was a member of the American Legion. Mr. Bigley enjoyed carpentry and gardening. He was married to the former Betty J. Gilmore, who survives in Severna Park, Md. Also surviving are two sons, Michael Bigley of Cologne, Germany, and Richard Bigley of Glen Burnie, Md.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bigley was preceded in death by two sisters; three brothers; and one granddaughter. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Goble Funeral Home of Clarion. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Henry L. Colonna, 85, of the Crafton area in Pittsburgh, died at 12:50 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2001, in Life Care Inc., Pittsburgh, where he had been recovering from a heart operation. Born Aug. 13, 1915, in Chicora, he was a son of Fred "Fiore" and Christina Piccola Colonna. Mr. Colonna was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Air Force. He was a graduate of Duquesne University where he received a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in public school music. Mr. Colonna was a music teacher and band director in the Greenville and Pittsburgh school districts for many years, retiring in 1974. He was a member of St. Philip Roman Catholic Church in Crafton. Mr. Colonna was married to the former Mary Catherine Gahagan, who died in October 1997. Surviving are two sons, Ron Colonna of Brisbane, Calif., and Charles Colonna of Clarion; a stepdaughter, Dolores McGregor of San Diego, Calif.; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren. He also is survived by a sister, Mrs. J. Richard (Teresa) Helmintoller of St. Petersburg; a brother, Albert Colonna of Pittsburgh; and several nieces and nephews. Mary Jo Foringer, 73, of Hells Kitchen Road, Polk, died Sunday, June 17, 2001, at her residence. Born June 16, 1928, in Wheatland, she was a daughter of Mont and Ellen Coller Blair. She was a graduate of Stoneboro High School. Mrs. Foringer was manager of Kilgore Security for several years. She also worked as a homemaker, an aide at Cottage Hospital and managed several stores. She was a member of the Salvation Army of Grove City for many years. Mrs. Foringer also was a member of the Franklin Moose, the Camping Club and the CB Club. She was married Nov. 17, 1980, to John Foringer, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Linda Adams of Greenville; a stepdaughter, Lisa Jorinscay of Seneca; a son, Larry Bartholmew of Florida; three stepsons, John A. Foringer of Clarks Mills, Terry R. Foringer of Bruin and Jeff L. Foringer of Karns City; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She also is survived by a sister, Anna Mae Burns of Greenville; and three brothers, Richard E. Blair of Mercer, George R. Blair of Pardoe and Jerry R. Blair of Erie. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Foringer was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret E. Blair Gayman; an infant brother, Floyd Blair; and a son, Joseph. Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday in the Alexander-McMullen Funeral Home, 3236 S. Main St., Sandy Lake. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home with the Rev. Richard Lichenberger, retired minister, officiating.
