Winter
Mrs. Marie Winter, 81, 1226 S. Jackson St., died Wednesday morning at a local
nursing home. Mrs. Winter was born March 10, 1898 in Jefferson, Wis.
She is survived by one son-in-law, Tom Ahasay: De Pere. She was preceded in
death by her husband, Michael, and one sister, Antoinette.
Friends may call at Cotter Funeral Home, De Pere, after 9 a.m. today. The
funeral will be 10 a.m. today at the funeral home with the Rev. Tom Golden
officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Schleis
Mrs. Julia Schleis, 90, 212 W. Iroquois St., died Wednesday at a local nursing
home following a short illness. The daughter of the late John and Katherine
Nejedlo was born in Pilsen, married Matthew Schleis on Oct. 12, 1914 and moved
to Green Bay at that time.
Mrs. Schleis was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Ladies Altar Society, the
Women's Relief Corps, the Northside Ladies and the Golden Age Club.
Survivors are one daughter-in-law, Mrs. 0. J. (Minna) Schleis, Green Bay; four
grand- children; six great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was preceded
in death by her husband on March 2, 1959; one son, 0. J. Schleis; six brothers,
Joseph, Frank, Wencil, John, Louis and George; and three sisters, Anna, Mary and
Theresa.
Friends may call at Malcore Funeral Home after 2 p.m. today. A Northside Ladies
rosary will be held 4:30 p.m. today with a Women's Relief Corps memorial service
7:30 this evening. A parish wake service will be held 8 p.m. today by the Rev.
Earl Schuh. A Ladies Altar Society rosary will be held 9:45 a.m. Friday at the
church. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at SS. Peter and Paul Church. Burial
will be in Allouez Cemetery.
