H. R. 24584. Mary H. Atkinson, aged 64 years, is the widow of John M. Atkinson, who served as a captain in Company B, Fourteenth Regiment Kentucky Infantry, from November 10, 1861, to September 15, 1865 (3 years 10 months). "Soldier was pensioned at $6, act of June 27, 1890; he died September 19, 1901. He and this applicant were married October 19, 1865.

Under the act of June 27, 1890, she was pensioned at $8 from October 7, 1901, and at $12 from April 19, 1908. Of the children she bore to the soldier six still survive.

Dr. F. M. Williams testifies that he is pensioner's family physician, and that owing to her age and infirmities she is totally disabled from earning a support.

Her grocer and other neighbors testify that her only income or support is her pension of $12 a month.

An increase to $25 is approved.
