Jacob Howard Pension Increase

H. R. 22233. Jacob Howard, aged 78 years, served as a private in Companies H and C, Fourteenth Regiment Kentucky Volunteer Infantry, from February 25, 1863, to September 15, 1865 (2 years 6 months and 20 days), and is now a pensioner under the act of February 6, 1907, at $20 per month on account of age.

He was formerly pensioned under the act of June 27, 1890. at $12 per month by reason of total inability to earn a support by manual labor. Was formerly pensioned under the act of July 14, 1862. at $10 per month for piles.

Address, Cottonwood Falls, Kans.

Board of surgeons, December 1, 1897, found piles and disease of rectum, and double inguinal hernia.

Medical testimony is that applicant is insane: a guardian has been appointed.

Applicant has, for property, $250 in the bank: he has a pension of $20 per month.

An increase to $36 a month is recommended.
