Subsidy Roll, 1378-1379. 1 In the Subsidy Roll of 1378-9, Sir Brian (chivaler) and his wife were assessed to the Poll Tax (at Helaugh) at 20s., and his son Sir Miles (chiv-aler) and his wife, at the same amount. A list of their house-hold follows:-Thomasyne my Lady's maid, Loretta the younger Lady's maid, Richard Bassok a servant, Will del Kychin (the cook), John de Ireland and his wife, Richard del Chambre (the chamberlain), and his sister Agnes, Katherine her maid, and William del Cundall.
