Edwin Uttley was born in Hartlepool, in 1895, the son of Thomas Uttley and Hannah Sedgwick. Ned was about 4 years old, when the family moved from Hartlepool to Loughborough. He married May Gutteridge in 1915, in Loughborough, while serving as a soldier. Ned and May lived most of their married life in Freehold Street in Loughborough. He was a champion fisherman, and taught both of his grandsons to fish. He died circa 1959/60. |
