Things Worth Remembering

Ice Deliveries
    Fall and Winter. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
    Spring and Summer. Every day (except Sunday)

Drug Store and Post Office
    Open every day from 8A.M. to 10:30 P.M. , except
    Sundays closed from 10:30 A.M. to 2 P.M.

Trolley Cars
    Leave terminals daily and Sunday from very early morning
    until midnight
            10 minutes before the Hour.
            10 minutes after the Hour.
            30 minutes after the Hour.
    Cradock and Portsmouth terminals have same leaving times.
        Running time about 16 minutes between terminals. Usually
        on time, but, being single track and crossing steam rail-
        roads are, occasionally, delayed.
        Fare. Single fare 7 cents (4 tokens, 4 rides) 25 cents
                    Transfers (free) good for several hours to North, 
                    South, East and West lines. (All cars and some busses.)
                    Cradock, Park View, Port Norfolk-Pinners Point, 
                    Prentis Park, and West Haven.

Norfolk Market
    Splendid quality. Prices slightly higher. Everything 
    available in and out of local season, Clean and very 
    attractive. The "Curb Market" has the "Dunkards'" 
    near-by farmers, with "hog's-head-cheese," scrapple,
     "ponhaus," fresh eggs, hominy, country sausage, herbs, 
    corn-meal, dressed chickens, giblets, game, etc. 

Milk Deliveries
    Daily and Sundays.

Mail Deliveries
    About 9:15 A.M. and 2:15 P.M. daily. (No Sunday mails)

Fire Department
    Corner Afton Parkway and Prospect Parkway. Has telephone. 
    Firemen sleep there. Always available. Very complete and 
    efficient "combination" chemical and "pumper," ladders, 
    hose, fire-extinguishers, ropes, axes, other necessary equipment. Motor driven

Merchandize Deliveries
    Most Cradock stores, all large Portsmouth stores deliver 
    promptly. All Norfolk stores (large ones) have periodic "Cradock
    delivery.

Wednesday during June, July and August
    Most of the stores in "The Crescent" close at 1 P.M.

    Second Congressional District of Virginia, represented
    by Hon. J.T. Deal, House of Representatives, Washington, D.C.
    NOT a "listed" Post-Office but is, officially known as
        Sub Station #4, Portsmouth, Va.
    Voting Place is at the fire House.
    Registration place at Afton Pharmacy.
    Our County is "Norfolk."
