James Barns the Father of the "Barns Brothers" was a Cabinet Maker and also ran a business as a Glass and China Dealer in Ashford from 1838 until 1855. The three sons ( John Barns, Thomas Barns and Samuel West Barns) that made up the 'Barns Brothers' were also Cabinet Makers in their early lives.
