member of House of Representatives in 1858, from Southbridge; like his father and his brother William Francis. the storekeeper of Globe Village; a parrt of Soutbridge near the Sturbridge line. The best educated of teh family; several terms in the Wilbraham Academy. STudied classics, Latin and Greek; a letter to his family detailing his activities and expenses (and requesting money) is preserved. Consistently spelled get "git". A leading citizen of Sturbridge, involved in settling estates, though not a lawyer.
