General Notes (Husband)
A Malster of Bury St. Edmunds. Will dated 11/5/1658, proved at the Prerogative Court of Canterbury in London, 3/10/1659. He may have sent his 3rd son, William, to Massachusetts with his sister Elizabeth, who was childless by her second husband, Deacon Child.
He willed:
To Thomas, his eldest son, the tenement where he lived, and the Malt-house on North Gate Street
To John, is second son, his lands and tenements in Monks Ely.
To William, his 3rd son, legacies, but no lands nor tenements [he being in America].
To Henry, his fourth son, lands and tenements in Bury St. Edmunds.
To Jonas, his yougest son, lans and tenements in Farnham.
He mentions his eldest daughter Elizabeth, and his dr Mary, metniones Hannah, thedaug of his son John, and the other three children; also the four children of his son Henry.
General Notes for Child Thomas BOND
His father willed him his house and his Malt-house in Bury-St. Edmunds.
General Notes for Child John BOND
John Bond came to America in 1642, landed in Newbury later moved to Haverill.
John Bond the son of Thomas Bond of Bury St. Edmunds, christened 1624, was willed lands and tenements in Monks Ely by his father, and has three children also mentioned in his father's will; his father's will was written in 1658 and proved 1659; this is taken to mean this John Bond is not the John Bond who settled in Newbury, MA. Similarly, John's brother Jonas, who died in 1681, willed John's eldest son Thomas, his lands etc in Farnham, and in Bury St. Edmunds, and 50 pounds to John 's son Jonas.
I gave John Bond the son of Thomas Bond of Bury St. Edmunds both families for now.
George MacKenzie questions if John Bond who married Emma Graves son of John and Hester (Blakesley) Bond of Newbury b 6/10/1650; latter probably didn't survive childhood; not in his father's will. (THat doesn't nec. mean he didn't survive childhood.) He says court records in Essex Co put his birth year as appr 1661. In 1665, Dorothy Bond m Henry Bailey; an "early planter" of Bass River. In 1687, Henry Bailey granted land to son-in-law John Bond. He prob a son of Dorothy who prob was a widow. She d bef 20 Jul 1699. Edward Bond d 16 Feb 1676, accidentally; he prob was a brother of John.
General Notes for Child William BOND
Settled in Watertown, MA. Possibly sent there at a young age with his father's sister and her husband, who may have been Deacon Child.
He held numerous public offices inWatertown. He bought land in 1654-5, was admitted a freeman 1682, and to the church, f.c., 1687. (I wonder in context if this author has his dates screwed up again.) Died intestate.
General Notes for Child Henry BOND
Had daughter Elizabeth and three other children. Willed lands and tenements in Bury St. Edmunds by his father. the four children mentioned in his father's will.
General Notes for Child Francis BOND
not mentioned in his father's will.
General Notes for Child Jonas BOND
A grocer of Bury St. Edmunds. Will proved 1681 mentions wife Mary, no children. Will cites lands, etc in Farnham and in Bury St. Edmunds, willed to Thomas Bond, eldest son of brother John Bond. To Jonas, son of his brother John Bond, 50 pounds. willed a friend his silver tobacco box. To Elizabeth, dr of his brother, Henry, and to Bartholomew Richmond, son of his sister.

General Notes (Husband)
Robert was born Bef. 1500 in Beneden, Kent, England and died on January 13, 1546/47 in Benenden, Kent, England. He is buried in St. George the Martyr of Benenden, Kent, England. He married Elizabeth in Benenden, Kent, England in ca. 1530. She was born Abt. 1510 in Benenden, Kent, England and died in Benenden, Kent, England.
Robert's estate was probated June 2, 1548 in Archdeacon Court, Canterbury, Kent, England.(54) Born during the reign of the first Tudor, King Henry VII, he lived through all of the reign of Henry VIII, and died under the boy king, Edward VI.
The identification of this Robert with the son of Edward Bigge is not proven, except by coincidence of place and age. His will was extracted by Elizabeth French (NEHGR, Jan. 1912): "The Will of Robert Bigge of Benenden, 13 January 1547/8. To be buried in the churchyard of the parish church of St. George the Martyr of Benenden. Alms to be distributed at the day of my burial. To wife Elizabeth, if she continue unmarried, all my stuff and household implements; if she marry again, half my stuff and household implements to my daughters, to be equally divided at age eighteen or day of marriage. To my wife all my corn and sundry livestock. To my son Walter two steers. To my sons Richarde and Thomas a heifer each at eighteen, and to my son John two steers at that age. All my cattle, wheat growing, and other moveables unbequeathed to be sold by my executrix and the money employed to pay my debts. I give to my wife Elizabeth my lease of churchfield, and make her executrix and William Fowle of Benenden overseer. My wife to redeem two pieces of land at Walkhurst, mortgaged to John Moyse of Byddenden for 10 pounds, and also to pay to Elizabeth Vsborne 40 pounds for which I stand bound.
"My last will regarding the disposition of all my lands and tenements. I will to Elizabeth my wife for life my messuage and garden at Benenden forstall and four pieces of land at Walkhurst, she releasing all her right of dowry in all my lands. The messuage and garden at Benenden forstall to go to my son John and his heirs at my wife's decease. To my son Richard and his heirs at my wife's decease four pieces of land at Walkhurst. My executrix to take the profits of all my other lands and tenements until they amount to 40 pounds, to be paid to Elizabeth, Dorothe, Elionor, and Alyce, my daughters, to each 10 pounds at day of marriage or age of twenty years. If any die before such day or age, reversion to the survivors, to be equally divided. After the said 40 pounds be levied I give to my son Thomas and his heirs forever my messuage and lands at the lane of Rolvenden and my half of a meadow called dukes mede in Tentwarden [Tenterden], of which Lawrence Day holds the other half, and a piece of marsh land at Frencham containing ten acres, my executrix to have the said lands until son Thomas come to the age of twenty-two. After the said 40 pounds be levied, to son Walter and his heirs forever seven pieces of land called the sixe acres, Wadyfeld, gardeyn of begtylte, the porteke, the upper shurfeld, the Longfelde, and the nether shurfeld, lying upon the den of Begtilte in Benenden, he to pay to my son Richard 20s. a year during the life of my wife and after he enter into the said land. After the said 40 pounds be levied, I give to son John and his heirs a piece of land called the field about the house and another called Euerynden's felde, both upon the den of Bigtilte.
Witnesses: Willm Fowle his mark, John Asten, Lawrence Davy, and Henry Asten. Proved 2 June 1548 by the executrix named in the will. (Archdeaconry of Canterbury, vol. 8, fo. 2.)"
