Robert's will was made 1 Oct 1567 and proved 13 Mar 1567/8, and names his children, his step-father Mr. Bryttayne, his sister Donne, his wife's brother William Harrison, and her brother in law Christopher Goldinge.

Following their marriage, Robert and Joan Cheney resided in teh parish of Waltham Abbey, Essex.

In a codicil, he directed that the furniture, silver and certayne howsholde stuffe be given to his sons John, Wawff, and William, remain in the hands of his wife during hier natural life.

Daniel Cheney, b abt 1633, Waltham Abbey, son of John Chaney and Martha Smith, son of William Cheney and Anne Summer went to Newbury, Essex, Massachusetts, but I don't know how he fits into this family.

Although some suggestions have been made, there has been no evidence found for the CHENEY ancestry in England. Resided at Roxbury before 1640, owning 24 1/5 acres of land; freeman 1666; militia member 1647; constable; selectman 1656-7. Ensign in the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Society. He was a founder of the Roxbury Free School in 1664. Married about 1625, England.

William's will was dated 16 Feb 1609/10 and proved 2 May 1610, naming his step-son William Newman and step-grandchildren Jane, William an dSarh Newman. William was an overseer of the will of William Harriosn in 1595, and brother Ralph Cheney in 1599.

In his will dated 16 Feb 1609/10 and proved 2 may 1610, William Cheyney, eyoman of Waltham Holy Cross, Essex, yet beingin health, bequeathed unto Jane Newman daughter of my sonne in lawe William Newman my salt of silver adn guilt, adn one dozen of silver spoones and the bedstead wtih the bedding and all the furniture of the Cahmber over the hall of my nowe dwellinge howse... all other my goods howshold stuffe cattells and chattells what soever unbequeathed my debts being paide and my funerall expenses discharged..
