General Notes for Child James ANDREWS
Someone's notes at Rootsweb Worldconnect cite Higgins' notes for the idea that this family came from Capisie, Main, and Dorcas was actually born there rather than in Falmouth where her family lived when Ebenezer Davenport married her.
This someone cited in addtion to Higgins' notes a page on Ebenezer Davenport's son at NEHGS XV p 183, 1861.
Search of NEHGS index found "The Andrews Family of Marblehead and Salem" (July 1950), Moriarty, excerpt below.
There were many Andrews families in Essex County, Massachusetts. Some of them were formerly Andrus, Andros, Androse, Androuse, Andross.
At the time of the Indian War of 1675 and thereafter, when the French War commenced in 1689, many of the inhabitants of the exposed frontier towns along the Maine coast took refuge in the towns along the Eastern Massachusetts coast, esp in Boston, Salem, and Marblehead. After the Peace of Utrecht in 1715 some of these refugee famlies returned to their old homes, but many others never went back. These Maine refugees, as was natural, kept up a close association with each other in their new homes and were inclined to intermarry, to some degree.
The early history of the Andrews family of Falmouth is somewhat obscure, as the Maine records dealing with this section of the Maine coast are meagre. Mr. Libby, as was to be expected, has gleaned most of what is to be found about them and recorded it in his splendid "Genealogiccal Dictionary of Maine and New Hampshire". The family was founded by Samuel Andrews, a London citizen, who came in the Increase 14 Apr 1635, aged 37 years, with his wife Jane, aged 30, and his cihldren Jane, aged 3, and Elizabeth, aged 2, and a servant Elen Lougie, aged 20. He settled in Biddeford, where he was taxed 7 Sep 1636. He built a house htere and died long prior to 26:4:1654 (York Deeds, Bk. I, fos. 42, 43). The family evidently belonged to the upper class of the Maine settlers. Samuel and Jane had issue: James, born in 1625; Jane, born in 1643, married Francis Neale; elizabeth, born in 1633, married first Richard Pike, secondly Mr. Thomas Purchase, and thirdly John Blaney, Srl; and Phiulippa married George Felt. After Samuel's death his widow, Jane, married Arthur Mackworth getn of Falmouth, the member of a gentle Shroshire family and a right hand man o f Sir Ferdinando Gorges in Maine. He died prior to 28 March 1658, leaving a noncupative will. By Jane he had three children. The widow Jane Mackworth was a refugee in Boston, where she made her will on 20 May 1676 and died soon after.
James Andrews, teh son of Samuel and Jane, born about 1625, styled "yeoman" and "Mariner", was a leading citzen of Falmouth, Foreside, whither he had gone when his mother married Mackworth. His farm was on the site of the Caco Bay fort, 1700-1716, at Mussel Cove. He went to Boston in 1675, returned after the war, and again went back to Boston in 1689, where he remained (York Deeds, Bk 16, fo. 40). He married first Dorcas, daughter of Michael and Elizabeth (Cleeve Mitton, both of whom belonged to families prominent in the early Maine settlemetn; and secondly in Boston (intention 6 Aug 1696) Margaret Halsey, a widow, daughter of James Phipps of Kennebec and sister of the famous Sir William Phipps. She too was a Maine refugee in Boston. His will, dated 4 Jan 1698/9, was proved at Boston. He died 5 May 1704, aged "79 years". By his first wife he had issue James, Samuel, Eilsha, Josiah, whose administration was taken out in Boston in 1691, Rbecca married Jonathan Adams of Boston, Dorcas, born in 1663, married EBezer DAvenport of Falmouth and Dorchester, and Jane, who married first, in 1684, Andrew Alger of Scarborough and later of Boston, and secondly, on 19 Feb 1692, Robert Davis of Boston.

General Notes for Child John BIGELOW
http://www.mandellstreit.com/genealogy/families/bigelows/
JOHN1 BIGELOW, 8th great-grandfather of Al Streit, was born in Wrentham, Suffolk, in 1617 and died July 14, 1703 in Watertown, Massachusetts. He married Mary Warren in Watertown, Massachusetts, August 30, 1642. Their marriage was the first ever recorded in Watertown. MARY5 WARREN (John4, John3, John2, Robert1) was born in Nayland, Suffolk and died October 19, 1691 in Watertown. John was a blacksmith by trade, and was elected selectman of Watertown in 1665, 1670, and 1671. He served as the town surveyor of highways twice. Mary emigrated to Massachusetts with her parents, John Warren III and Margaret (------). These families embraced the religious reform movement known as Puritanism, the movement which in the late 16th and 17th centuries sought to “purify” the Church of England from remnants of Roman Catholicism that the Puritans claimed had been retained after the religious settlement reached early in the reign of Queen Elizabeth I. They emigrated to the Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1630, arriving in the fleet with Sir Richard Saltonstall. The year of their arrival marked the beginning of the so-called Great Migration from East Anglia to New England. Through their son Samuel, John Bigelow and Mary Warren were ancestors of U.S. President James A. Garfield and Bigelow Carpet Company founder Erastus B. Bigelow. Through son Joshua, they were ancestors of Mary Jane and Lucy Bigelow, both of whom married Mormon leader Brigham Young, and David E. Bigelow, whose wife Ruth (Campbell) Bigelow founded the Bigelow Tea Company. Through daughter Sarah, they were ancestors of Red Cross founder Clara Barton.
Most of the information in our files was taken from Genealogy of the Bigelow Family of America, from the Marriage in 1642 of John Biglo and Mary Warren to the Year 1890, by Gilman Bigelow Howe (Hamilton, Worcester, Mass., 1890). A photo-copy version of this book is still in print and is available from the New England Historic Genealogical Society, 101 Newbury Street, Boston, MA 02116. Copies are also available for loan to members of this organization. At present, we have almost 33,000 members of this family in our database!!!

Wife Joan
Born: Christened: Died: Buried:

General Notes (Husband)
Born about 1521, a wheelwright of Fressingfield, and St. James;, South Elmham. Married Mrs. Siblla Barbor (nee Gold), a widow. Sibilla was in great danger in the time of Queen Mary's religious persecution of 1553-58, as was her sister Isabella Phillips, who was confined in Norwhich Castle for her relgion and escaped death only by the power of her brothers Paul and Peter Godl, who were men of some influence in the country. (It would appear tha the residents of the area around Laxfield were particularly vociferous in their support for the Protestant reformation: In an account by Robert's great-grandson Rev. John Ffiske, his grandparents and great grandparents are described as "eminently zealous in the true religion".) Robert fled to Geneva for religion's sake in the days of Queen Mary, but was once more residing atSt. James in 1567-8 (mentioned in the lay subsidy) and at the time of his death. His first wife having died, he remarried to Joan in 1570 at St. James, she was buried there in August, 1587. His will is dated April 10, 1590, it was proved at Metfield in July, 1602. He was buried at St. James in 1602.
The will of Robert Fiske of the parish of St. James in Southelmam (South Elmham, Suffolk), "whelewright", "trusting and stedfastlie beleiving to be saved by he death and precious bloudsheddnig of our lord and saviour Jesus Christ" dated 10 april 1590. to my eldest son William Fiske my tenement called Hooves in the parish of St. James, according to the custom of the manor, he paying to my daughter Elizabeth, now the wife of Robert Barnard, or to the said Robert, in the dwelling house of my said tenement called Hoves, 18 pounds (in instalments). To my son Eliezar and to Elizabeth, his wife, all my freehold lands in St. James, elmham, [they] paying yearly to my son William 2 1/d2 d., for their lives, and paying to my son Thomas Fiske at teh dwelling house of the said tenement called Hoves, 8 pounds, as follows: 4 pounds within one month of my decease adn 4 opunds at the end of a year following that payment. The free lands are to pass to my son thomas, if Eliezar and Elizabeth fail to be bound for the above payment. On the death of Eliezar and Elizabeth (and of Thomas if tenant of the free lands) the free lands are to pass to my son William, he paying to my son thomas 3 opunds, in consideration therof, one month after my decease. To the poor of St. James 10s., out of my moveables, after my decease, adn 10s. more to such other godly poor people as shlal be thought most needful and charitable by my executors, at such times as to them shall seem most convenient. To my "bedchildren" (granchildren) 40s., to be equally divided among them and paid into the hands of their parents. To Nicholas Barbor of Chepenell greene 30 s., for him to divide equally among his children. My executors aer to have those houses, parcel of the said tenement, which are now in my own hands an doccupying, for one month after my decesase. To my executors 6s. 8d each. The residue of my estate is to be equally divided among my children then livng by agreement, or by appointment of John Laurance the Elder, gent., and he is to have 6s 8d. Executors: my sons Jefferie Fiske and Eliezar Fiske. Witnesses: Robert Lawter, Thomas Starke. Proved at Metfield (co suffolk), 28 Jul 1602, by the executors. (Archdeaconry of Suffolk (Ipswich Probate Registry), book for 1602-1603, fo. 144).
Robert Fiske and Sibilla Gold (Gould) became ancestors to seven emigrants to New England, including Rev. John Fiske. He was also grandfather to the author of the Candler Manuscript, and allegedly he was great grandfather to John Locke; grandfather to John Locke's mother, via the Bernard marriage.

Tehre are Barber's and Barbour's elsewhere in this pedigree. Don't know if they could have been related.
I have three Barber/ Barbour families, clearly related, clearly part of a fascinating tale.
Richard Barber, b 1565 Stradbroke, Suffolk, England
i
E. Barber b 1597 m Henry Brock
i
i
Mary m 1639, Stradbroke, Henry Phillips
i
i
Elizabeth m Robert Gowing
i
i
Priscilla m William Robbins, descendant married into the Morse line down the line.
Nicholas Barbor b bef 1566, Laxfield area, Suffolk, England
m Sibilla Gold, persecuted for Protestantism, remarried
Robert Fiske, persecuted for Protestantism.
Sibilla's sister Isabel Gold, also persecuted for Protestantism, married someone named Phillips.
Sibilla Gold and Robert Fiske had Anthony Fisher., of Laxfield, Suffolk, who went to Dedham, Massachusetts; a daughther married Daniel Morse, from Dedham, Suffolk, England, to Dedham, Massachusetts.
George Barbour, born to Thomas Barbour on 28 Dec 1613 in Fressingham, Suffolk, went to Dedham Massachusetts, married first Elizabeth Clark, a daughter married Jonathan Morse, son of Daniel Morse above from Suffolk to Dedham Massachusetts. George Barbour married second JOanna Faxon, who was previously married to Anthony Fisher, son of Anthony Fisher above.
All of these people were founders of Dedham Massachusetts, even though only some of them are known to have travelled to Massachusetts and clearly they arrived there on separate UFO's (that on occasion actually disembarked in WAtertown); and noone has noticed that they knew each other well in England, nor has anyone noticed that history of religious persecution ties some of them together.

General Notes (Husband)
A clothier of Glemsford.
The wills of both young John Frost and Richard Scott plainly place them in the manufacture of woolen cloth, England's principal industry of the day; tehy were, more precisely, middle men who bought the wool, commissioned the shearing, spinning and weaving (all of which were done in private households), and then arranged the sale of the finished product.
He was buried on 5 Feb 1564/5, and made his will on 7 February 156(4?) Will proved 27 May 1565.
Richard Skote of Glesnforde, co Suff., clothier, sick in body. 7 Feb. 156(4?) 7 Elizabeth I. To be buried in teh churchyard of Glemsforde. To wife Johan "all her howseholde stuffe... that can be founde that was hers before seh was my wyfe, also one featherbed, half my household stuff, half my bread, corn, ale corn, 2 mylche beasts, and b20 on condition that she provide surety that she will not seek any dowery or ioynter (ie jointure) in lands or tenements. To son Edwarde Scotte b20. To son Richard Scott b8 at age of 21. To son in law Thomas Warren b5 and 1 mylche beast. To son in law John Frost 2 leases I hold of Mr. Polye of Boxsted, also looms at Howldens, and 40s. To son in law Wylliam Lellye 65. To 2 youngest daughters Margaret and Elizabeth b18, "which I muste have of Robert Carleton" to be paid them at age of 20 or at marriage. To oldest son John b8. To wife's son Andrewe Jeames 40s. Resideue of household stuff to be distrubuted among married children. Executors, George Hixe, Roger Froste. Witnesses: George Collingwood, Robert Carleton.
The Scotts were no easier ot sort out than were the Frosts. Richard Scott of Finstead End, yeoman, was having childrne baptized at Glemsford during most of the time that Ricahrd Scott, clotheir, Ann's father, was, and the praish record are relatively sketchy. Fortunately, however, btoh left wills. Johan, the clother's widow, was a later wife and not Ann's mother. Presumably, Joanna, wife of Richard Scott, buried at Glesford on 23 Aug 1556, was. On 8 Oct 1556, Richard married johan Tollington or Tollerton, widow of Chritopher Tollerton of Cavendish, which is adjacent to Glemsford. The latter, in nhis will dated 20 May 1556, proved 23 Sept 1556, bequeathed 40 s and a cow to Adnrew (no surname or relationship given), his mother to keep it as long as she thinks good. He must be the Adnrew identifieed in Richard's will as Johan's son. AFter Richard's death, she married Thomas Heywarde teh elder of GLemsford, husbandman. He left his wife's son Andrew James a certain sum.
He was wrongly named by Sir Anthony Wagner as great grandfather of Edward Scott, a Glesmford Clthoer, whose spurious pedigree roll of ca 1608 was the basis for the claim that the arms paitned thereon belonged to the latter's son, Richard Scott of Providence, RI, who immigrated in 1634 (Wagner, pp 415-6; Richard Le Baron Bowen, "The Arms of Richard Scott", NEHGR, 96(1942): 3-18, 192-94.
Editors' note: The pedigree roll purprits to show the descent of Edward Scott fo Glemsford (d 1643), father of Richard Scott of Profidence RI, from teh Scotts of Scotts Hill, co Kent, a descent that Wagner proves is both false and fraudulent. The roll, as printe din NEHGR< says taht Edward's wife was Sarah, sister of Ricahrd Carter, of Brook Hall,m in co Essex, and that Edward Scott was a son of Edward Scott of Glemsford by his wife Elizabeth "Daughter of --- Grome of Suffolke", and grandson of Edward Scott by his wife Mary, daughter of John WArren. Wagner places Edward as son of the Richard Scott, clothier, of Glemsford, who died in 1565 and who the present article proves was the father of Ann (Scott) Frost. Dr. Porter shows that Richard Scott's son Edward hada son Edward baptized in 1573/4, hardly old enough to be grandfather of Richard Scott, who was born apparently in 1605. Further investigation is cnessary before we can accept any of the connections in the roll.
Richard Scott of Fynstead, parish of Glemsford, yeoman, was the father of Joanna Strutt who married John Belgrave. I don't see where they are related, atleast, so far as is known.
General Notes for Child John SCOTT (SKOT)
"Probably" married Ann Strutt.
General Notes for Child Margaret SCOTT (SKOT)
She may be the Margaret Frost who is buried in Glemsford, 12 Mar 1590/1. She is probably not the Margaret Frost, vagabond, who had a daughter Margaret bp tehre 4 Feb 1575/6; a "vagabond" was a wanderer or stroller, a term not normally appliedot an inhabitant of the parish.
