He copied them two sheets to one; I'm not sure what order they go in.

                           Kirkstall July ___ looks like 130.

Dear Brother and Sister:



I now write to you hoping to find you in good health as I am sorry to say

we are not at present.



I have to communicate to you the painfull intelligence of the Death of

our Mother She expired on Sudnay morning last - the 3rd of July.  At 

a Quarter afer 7.  She often talked about you often did she look at 

your likenesses and Bless You both But Where his she then.  I trust

she is enjoying the Praise of God with holy angels.  (inellings) in

mansions far beyond the Skyes looking down from heaven and smiling on

her Children on each side of the Atlantic (underlined) weep not Dear

Sister and Brother (both underlined) for I trust she is in Realms of

Bliss.



We Interred her on Tuesday In the lower (Jrail?) of the Church Yard

 beneath the shades of the beautiful trees.



 Father his very Ill it his a hear - stroke for him his circumstances

 are only low he takes it mery much to heart.



 __ Sister Mary & Husband, came to the Funeral the are pretty well they

 have two Children now

 You must write soon and evedeavor to console My Father



 In intend writing (I have __ I _______) to our Friends Mr Booths with

 this Mail Give your Children Kisses for their (Male?) & Grandfather

 also Give our Regards to (this seems to go to the first page, above.)





                             Kirkstall October 30th looks like 153.

Dear Brother and Sister



We received your letter in due time and was glad to hear of you been well Be



I have to communicate to you the painful intelligence of the death of our

Father he expired on Monday last - the 21th (Inst) after a very tedious

illness and suffering severely.



You wished to know of what illness Mother died It was a disease of the

brain for weeks previous to her death she fell fast. They have both

died in one House and are now both laid on one Grave In the lower part of

the Church Yard shaded by the Trees You would ___ by that - News - paper I 

sent you I had (job?) married (underlined) I married one Margaret

Cooper her Native place was Rowden near Aller Road and moreover than

that we have a Child and what his more strange we call him George

Frederic after you and your sons My Mrs had heard to much about

George Readyhough that she was determined to have another so to make 

the name sound uphouse we address that of your son Freds You Must

give me Kisses You to your wife's Relatives any you meet - with 

My Grandmother to at present living with us She sends her Love to you.



My wife joins me in her to you In the Meantime Believe Him to be Your

Affectionate Brother
