Suzette Leclair (Lanaudiere Genealogical Society) said that "the first three children died in childhood, in Ste-Elisabeth" but by the time she listed children separately by church and by the surname that was used, it is not clear which three children she is referring to.

Some of the first settlers of this name or some of its variants were: Pierre Thibault who arrived in Quebec in 1748 from Guyenne; Charles Thibault arrived in Quebec in 1739 from Ile de France; Guillaume Thibault settled in Quebec in 1655 from Normandy. In Newfoundland, three brothers, Tibbo, originally Thibeau came to Newfoundland via England in the mid 18th century, Jonathon settled at Grand Bank before 1817.
Guillaume was a baker and a uniform tailer. He was likely solicited to emigrate to Canada as part of the settling community with a promise of the grant of land.
Charles' family all appear to have lived in Ste-Victoire. Atleast at marriage of the offspring. Some offspring lived there in the 1881 census. Multiple offspring married there in the 1840's.
Charles was a farmer.
Not sure what Charles' parentage is based on. April wrote she has no parents for him. No christening or exact birth date or place is given. Conceivably he fits best in this family. His placement in this family has some acceptance, found it cited by several researchers, but is possibly not proven.
