General Notes (Husband)
He worked as a broom maker, laborer, and basket maker, then a carpenter. He lived in Moorhead, Indiana, for some time in the early 1880's, then returned to Northampton. The author of the Laspron dit lacharite web site says that "popular legend also suggests that Oliver was a tumbler and worked on the high wire as part of a circus act".
He lived in Hatfield, Massacusetts, at some point, possibly from 7 Jan 1871 to 12 Nov 1897, when he died, according to the Laspron dit Lacharite database. Unclear if he moved to Northampton or if his widow made that move by 1900.
The spelling of his name varied a great deal. Lemprond, Lempson, Lampara, Lambrand, Lampson, Lampreau.
His death record says he died of bright's disease, which means kidney disease, and is a common complication of diabetes. Author of the Laspron dit lacharite web site says he had brights disease but died of consumption. He was only 47, according to his death certificate.
He married twice.
Marriage to Julian "Willett" from NEHGS image of marriage record. Ditto marriage to "Rilly Deteaux".
Oliver Lampron is listed in some earlier Northampton city directories, from 1882-3 to 1893-4.
Mrs. Oliver Lampron is listed from 1898. In 1913 Oliver Lampron bds 85 Market, Alfred Lampron emp WAR ltd h 85 Market, and Mrs. Oliver Lampron h 56 Hawley. In 1914 Alfred rem to Hadley, Mrs. Oliver Lampron is listed at h 85 Market. She is listed as Mrs. Oliver up through 1916, then is listed as Julienne wid Oliver starting in 1917.
Later Alfred A lived at 85 Market, and then one of his children, and Ella in 1953.
Buried St. Mary's cemetery.
St. Mary's Cemetery. there are no names on the stone but the paperwork (a small yellow index card to be exact, lists Ella lampron, 79, 5/23/70, Crypt; Emilda Lampron, 62, 4/11/53. General Notes (Wife)
Her name had to be deciphered by French Canadian genealogists. She and her probable sister are listed on their marriage records as Rilly Deteaux, otherwise described mostoften as Oralie, and Mary Deteau, the latter the daughter of Elois ___ and ___ either Deteau or something like Detamp. In one case she actually wrote her name ona child's record as Aurelie Duteau.
Aurelie Duteau is found on the 1870 census working for a family of English origin in Northhampton.
There were Duteau's found later in Northampton but I can find no record of them there at that time. A Joseph Duteau is recorded as a godparent at a child's baptism in the family. Later some Duteau's who belonged to a family in Southbridge settled in Northampton; unclear if they were related.
Another proper way to spell the name is Dutot.
Other ways are Deuto, Dutau, Dutos, I found Detot and Deto or Duto among the family from Southbridge.
Help on this line came from R. J. Wespiser, [email protected]
General Notes for Child Eugene O LAMPRON
Birth records show two Eugene's born to Oliver; Eugene E in Jan 17 1890 to Oliver and Julien, and Eugene C or O - certainly really Eugene O, found elsewhere, lived in Northampton, son of Oliver and ____ Duteau, married Lucy Gagnon on Nov 20, 1893, in Northampton. It was easy to confuse Oliver's family with Severe/ Frank's.
Death from 1951 city directory.
General Notes for Child Albert Ely LAMPRON
His baptismal certificate, provided on Lacharite database, identifies his parents as Oliveri Lampron, and Maria Duteau. Maria was teh wife of Severin (brother of Oliver), sister to Aurelie, and Aurelie was wife of Oliver. Edward Duteau was a witness at the baptism.
I cannot find a birth nor a marriage record under any spelling of Lampron I've tried, nor for birth of Albert alone in Hampshire County in 1875, nor for marriage of Albert in 1895 in Hampshire or Becket Counties.
For the Lacharite web site to give any child's father would be too much. Mother, sometimes, but not in this case. Never the father.
Lacharite database has,
Albert got angry with his family and ran away to join a circus. He met his wife during this period, married in 1895, and moved to Becket in 1897. He then started changing his name to Lampro. In the 1900 U.S. Census, he is recorded as Lampro, yet his house was purchased under the name Lampron in 1907. By 1918 he used Lampro for everything. No record has been found of him changing the name legally however. - source Ernest Lampro Correspondence, 9/17/82. Name changed to Lampro around 1916. A review of birth certificates in Becket, MA in 1982 by Ernest Lampro, Jr. implies Lampron used until Jeanette was born in 1918. He was a Foreman at the Basket Factory in Becket. He built a basket factory on his farm. There was also a soap mill that washed away with a flood that he and Edmund worked at for awhile. They lived on a farm. The land was cleared for farming. There were stone wall fences. Albert would drag along a flatbed after the horses with stones and put walls around his place. Took the kids fishing a lot. Had lots of guns but didn't go hunting. General Notes for Child Alfred A. LAMPRON
Alfred's marriage record in 1898 cited him as living in Hatfield. They lived at 85 Market St. in 1910, and he cannot be found in the census in 1900.
85 Market St., according to the city tax assessor's online database, was built in 1901, is in poor condition, and contains one one bedroom apartment and three two bedroom apartments. A sort of floor plan is provided, and it is not clear whether it was originally a multi-unit home, nor if it has more than one storey. There is a reference to deed book 4620 and deed page 207. The lot number is 32A-021-001.
Despite the long tenure of this family at this address, it does not look as though they owned it. The Hampshire County Register of Deeds online database goes back to 1980, and contains a deed dated June 29, 1984 - either Deed book 2630, p 91, or book 02469, p. 71. This deed records the sale of the property at 85 Market St and its buildings thereon by the surviving joint owner, Alcide H. Bernier, to three individuals. The deed references the deed, Book 1453, p 212, by which Aldea A. Bernier sold the property to Alcide H. Bernier. Tehre is a note that this Aldea A. Bernier died on Feb 22, 1966.
This is teh Alfred Lampron, millwright, at 85 Market in 1920 Northampton directory. In the 1953 directory, Delphine, widow Alfred A., lived there.
A child of his and his wife lived there after that, and Mildred lived there with her husband at his death in 1956.

An Edmund Lampron was born in Northampton in 1906, birth record not available online. His twin was Hector.
That means that Edmund's age above was garbled; he was 3, like Hector, and not 8. They were the sons of Alfred A.
I suspect this is the Edmund Lampron below.

General Notes for Child Edmond Joseph LAMPRON
Age estimated from marriage and census records.
Marriage from NEHGS image of marriage record.
His father had temporarily moved to Moorhead.
Edmond was employed with a number of his family at the Belding Silk Mill as a silk weaver for some time.
After returning to Connecticut, he lived in the same town as his brother Albert, who had a basket-making shop on his farm, and apparently he worked there for some time.
He was an alcoholic, and died of a heart attack.
There is a Victoria E, widow of Edmond J., kitchenworker, VAH, living at 85 Market in 1953 Northampton directory; she can't be one of our Edmond's; neither of them outlived their wives. Unless there was a divorce. But why is she living at 85 Market? Conceivably this is the Edmund who appears as a son of Alfred A and Delphine, who did live at that address, in teh 1910 census.
In January 1908, when their son George died, Edmund and Mary lived at 13 Spring St.

General Notes (Husband)
From Anjou. Department of Maine-et-Loire, District of Saumur, Canton of Gennes, Diocese of Angers. Romans had a fortified camp there. Church built to Sanite-Radegonde in 6th century (Queen of France)
Michel emigrated at age 24. He earned his nickname as a militiaman. He acquired a grant of land after several years. Father Leonard Garreau parcled out his land and gave five of seven sections to Michel Lemay, Jacques Bertand, Jacques Brisset, Jean Pacault, and Pierre Dandonneau. In 1659 Crevier bought back land from all five that they ahd not had time to clear.
He also received land at the Cape de la Madeleine, in partnership with arpenter Elie Bourbeau, who taught him the trade of carpentry. They built the chapel at Sanite-Marie-du-Cap. Later they disassembled it and transported it to Fort Saint-Francois, where they built a palisade. In 1659 he married Marie Duteau at La Magdeleine, near Trois-Rivieres.
Marie was born at La Rochelle. On 16 Apr 1658 Jeanne Perrin, wife of Pierre Dutaut, a porter of LaRochelle, and with his permission, indentured herself for five years at 50 livres per year, to Jacques de la Poterie of Quebec. This contract ws made through his agent pPierre Denis. Jeanne Perrin-Dutaut departed with her daugther Madeleine, aged 9 years. On the manifest of the sihp Prince Guillaume, on that same day, 16 year old son of Jeanne, Cahrles Dutaut, signed a 3 year contract of service, as did his 19 year old sister, Marie. Noone knows why the father stayed behind, but he died at LaRochselle a few months later at the age of 53 years. He left a daughter, Marie, issue of a former marriage. Jeanne Perrin left no tarce of herself in New France.
Michel and Marie lived at the Cape for twelve years. In the census of 1666, they had one servant named Pierre, the following year the family had 4 head of cattle and 18 arpents of land under cultivation. On 20 Jan, they acqurired another piece of land at thhe Cape, 2 arpetns in frontage. Next August, Michel arranged to supply 300 minots of grain to Michel Feuillant and Jacques Haubert of Cahmplain.
The Jesuits gave Michel Lemay a concession consissting of two houses and two arpents of land at Batiscan and at Cote Saint-Eloy. Lemay accepted and moved with his family to Batiscan in spring 1669, and started to build and to clear land. Next year he obtained 9 arpents of frontal land in Lotbiniere, 3 of which were for his 13 year old son. Jesuits tried to coax him to stay by offeringhim another piece of land at Batiscan in 1674, but Michel had sold his first grant to Charles Dutaut, his brother in law. In 1669 in Batiscan Michel began to fish eels. This was his principal business after 1673.
In autumn 1672, ichel Lemay obtained 9 arpents of prime river frontage from Chartier. The Lemay family seem to have been first to make a home at Sant-Louis de Lotbiniere. At 48 Michel stopped moving around. The family built a home and bar, and in three years had cleared 20 arpents of land, had 9 cattle and 3 rifles. In 1680 hs concession was enlarged to 15 arpents in frontage by 30 arpents in depth. Michel was also granted fishing rights in exchange for 1/16 of his catch, slated and conditioned. Lemay could make a good living catching and putting up eels.
Two of the children - Ignace and Pierre, were explorers, or voyageurs.

General Notes (Husband)
Marriage and death records in Northampton, MA, prove him a son of good ol' Frank and Julia. He married a sister of Oliver's wife. The online Laspron dit lacharite database missed him.
NEHGS image of marraige record shows Severe Lampron, of Hatfield, 23, b Canada, son of Francis and Julia Lampron, married Mary Deteaux, 20, of Northampton, b Canada, daughter of Eloi Deteaux.
The children I have for him were listed on 1900 census and probably this is not all of them.
Severe was a laborer.
In records, he is often called Frank Lampron.
On 1870 census, Hatfield, is found this family:
Frank Lampreau, b CA, 1847.
George b MA 1870
Henry b MA 1864
Mary b CA 1849
Theresa b CA 1842
Thomas b CA 1842
Paul b CA 1851
Hard to pin these people down. Frank and Mary probably Severe and first wife. Two sons may be sons of a previous marriage who did not live. Not same George as that on 1990 census. Henry gone by then. Though he wouldhave been grown by 1900. The others look like siblings and siblings in law. Some of them look like children of Frank with strange birth years.
General Notes (Wife)
She is identified as the daughter of Elois and Marie Charet on records concerning her marriage to SEverin, and her children, in Northampton, MA.
