General Notes (Husband)
A Civil War veteran, a Coroporal, served 3 years and six months. During that time he was never injured and never sick one day. He was one of the first to go.
Per 1882 -83 Reading directory he was a hatter; lived at same address as his father. Also at times listed as a carder.
1890 Reading directory a janitor, and his sister Louisa, who never married, lived with him.
He died of complications of disease.
He was born at the old Dehart Homestead at the Northwest corner of9th and Penn, where hsis father conducted a grocery store for many years. He received a common school education.
He worked at Brumbach's Woolen Mills in Exeter as a carder for many years. Also worked for 16 yers at William Reed's hat factory in Reading. Then worked at W. H. Reinoel's Hat Factory as a carder and quit 15 years before his death. For last 15 years of his life he worked as a janitor at the Boys' High School. When he died hte school placed their flag at half mast.
He was a member of the Evangelical denomination.

1860 wool spinner. With family. Next door to Cornelius and his wife and family (whose information I somehow originally had as Frederick's).
1880 cotton corder.
1850 lived with his brother Cornelius, and probably distant cousin Washington Dehart same age as Cornelius, in the home of the family of William Brumbach. Totally unclear why but a large number of people lived there, atleast half of whom were not named Brumbach.
