General:
He was in Woodbridge by 1726, when he served as constable, land records on him from 1735. Quaker records from 1733, when he married. No evidence of who was his father. Kay thinks he is attributed to William and Mary because this is the only Quaker Webster around the right age to have been his father, but it is entirely possible he was an emigrant and is not related to William and Mary. Sources on the Webster family do acknowledge that, since records of eight of William and Mary's children turn up in improbably different records from Woodbridge, there may have been other children whose births were not recorded. Many people conclude that William was his father.
