Samuel Ely knew Mary Day from the day of her birth in Hartford. Probably they kept in touch after teh Elys moved to Norwalk. In 1659 Samuel went to Springfield, MA to marry Mary.

Mary the widow was married April 12, 1694 to Thomas Stebbins, son of Thomas and Hannah Stebbins, he dying Dec. 7, 1695. She, the widow Mary Stebbins, was married Dec. 16, 1696, to John Coleman. (Longmeadow Families NEHGS Reg Volume 35 p. 236, 7)
Widow Mary Day Ely When Thomas Stebbins married her, she was the widow of Samuel Ely. She was the daughter of Robert Day.
