General Notes (Husband)

I have the source for A Charles Gott christening, no clue which one, as Vital Records of Salem MA to end of the year 1849; Vol 1, Births, Salem MA, The Essex Institute, 1916-18; pg 368; Harland Hatcher Grad Library, U of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI. Probably an earlier one as in my copied and pasted notes it follows the records on the Charles Gott of 1498 and Edward Dennis families, which give christening dates but no places.

Salem vital records and oneof the biographical references give dates that differ by two months as though someone tried to transpose them into modern dates.

Charles Gott saw military service as Lieutenant of a training band in 1693.

For some reason his seven month old daughter was taken in and raised by another couple after his first wife died, though he remarried only four months later.

He was made a freeman on May 1553, admitted to the Wenham church, with his father and mother, Dec 25, 1665, married Nov 12, 1659, Sarah, daughter of Edward Dennis of Boston.
