General Notes (Wife)
Widow of Richard Huck of Worcester, by whom she had several children.
In 1719 20 years after marrying William, Milberrow Doelittle founded a small charity school for children of poor parishioners who did not receive parish relief. Income was set aside from perty and land in two neighboring parishes to provide 5 pounds a year to pay a School Dame for teaching twelve children. She had to be a communicant of the Church of England, and the children were to be particularly instructed to read the Bible, Common Prayer and Church Catechism. The school was called St. John's Charity School. Later Millberrow's sister Lucy founded a similar school, and in 1747, the two were combined. The school lasted until 1842, when new parish schools were built. Which schools it is not clear, charged pupils a penny a week, but 12 boys and 12 girls received their education free.
