General Notes (Husband)
The way I read Van Kempen, she is saying that this Humphrey the Elder of Aggborough was the father of Humphrey the Younger of Aggborough, and that he was also the son of Thomas Doolittle of Aggborough, who was called Humphrey the Elder, had atleast three children, and she does not list Humphrey the younger among them. I am assuming that she listed the children whose records she found and the record for Humphrey the younger has not been found. I could possibly be reading her wrong.
Dollittle and Van Kempen construct his family differently. Dollittle finds Joane the first child whose christening is found in the records, while Van Kempen has a John christened earlier, and Dollittle argues that Humfrey must have been born before Joane, while Van Kempen does not; her dates for these people are later than Van Kempen's.
Gillian Dollittle has him born about 1522. This is necessarily true if, according to Dollittle's scheme, he was married to Ann and they had a child Ann who died just before Humfrey's father John. She offers no direct evidence that any part of this was the case.
Three of his children survived him; Joan, Edward, and Humphrey.
The entry of yis burial in Kiddermisnter churchyard describes him as Humphrey Doolittle the elder.
