General Notes (Husband)
Francis died betw 7 Oct 1625, when he made his will, and 5 Nov 1625, when it was proved.
Children were baptized in Fressingfield in 1584, 1587, and 1588, and in nearby Dennington in 1590, 1592, 1n3 1597. The last two entreis in Dennington give the mother's name as Mary, but in September 1596, Francis's uncle John Aldowes called her Sarah. Francis in his own will called her Mary, but in the will eh requested sons JOhn and Nathan to do certain things for their mother. Sarah and Mary are probably the same person. After living in Dennington, the family moved to Toft Monks, Norfolk.
Francis willed his wife the right to occupy the best parlor in his house in Fressingfield where his son Nathan lived, and also to receive his cowe and his black mare, a brass pot, and two great kettles. Nathan and John, who were to inherit property, were to pay their mother 6 pounds every year as long as she lived.
Nathan inherited three parts of a meadow, atleast one pightell, copyhold, in the parish of Fressingfield. John got a quarter of the meadow called Launce Meadowe. Francis had already deeded his freehold lands in Fressingfield to these same two sons.
John also inherited "my livery bedstead, a fetherbed, a pair of blankets, a coverlet, two pairs of sehets, a pillow and pillowbere, Francis' great brass pot, the black mare's colt, a great caldron of brass, the press cupboard in the hall, and one Chest, a chestpress inthe backhouse, six milk bowles, a cheese vat, and a chesetread.
Nathan got the great cupboard standing in the hall at Fressingield and one chest there after the death of his mother, also one long table.
Tehre is no record of thedeath, burial or probate of Francis's widow.
