General Notes (Husband)

William Doolittle's will.

In the name of god Amen in the yeare of our Lord God 1576 and the 15 day of September I Willem Dolytell of Ketherminster in the county of Worcester being sicke in body but of perfect memory do make this my testmaent contaynynge therin my last will in manor forme and ffolowinge.

Ffirst I bequeth my sowle unto the mercfull hand of god and my body to be buryed in the churchyard of ketherminster forsayd.

Imprimis I give unto the box for the pore x.ii.d

Item I give unto Alce my daughter the houwse whiche I was dwell in with all the commodityes and apernances to have and to hold unto the sayd Alce and to her heyres for ever saving that I will that Annes by wiffe shall Injoye the same for and duringe her natural liff and I will that immedyately after my deceasse my sayd wiffe shall enter into Band oblygatorye in the some of one hundred markers unto my brretrn Thomas Dolytell and John Dolytell with condition ther upon... that the sayd Annes shall not at any time hereafter do any acte or actes to the contrarye but that the sayd Alec and her heyers forever may injoye the sayd house in maner and forme before sayd.

All other my godde and cattells movable and one movable I give adn bequeth unto Annes my wiffe and to Alce my daughter whom I do make Executryes of this my last will to see the same performed accordingly. And I do ordayne my overseers of this my last will Thomas Dolytell my brethern and John Gilles my wifffes brother unto whom I geve for their payne ovr and Besydes all theyr chardges ii apece These beinge wittnesses Thomas Dolytell Jhon Dolytell Nycholas Betenson Willem Conyer Humfrey Dolytell.

The will was probated on the 15th of December, 1576.

The inventory of William's estate shows three looms in the Shoppe, 1 broad loom and 2 narrow looms, which was the number of looms commonly owned by a Master weaver at this time.
