General Notes (Husband)
Anthony Dorchester and his wife, Sarah, went to Springfield from Windsor, bringing their three children. HIs wife died there, and he married Widow Martha Kritchwell. He married thierd the widow of John Harmon.
He leased at different times JP's corn and sawmills for annual rents up to 18 pounds. ON FEb 10, 1655, Drochester leased a cornmill owned jointly by JP an dElizur Holyoke for 13 pounds annually; by 1669, the rental payment was 18 pounds; held lease utnil 1672 and possibly after; also leased oxen adn 5 acres of land; oxen formerly Dorchester's which he lost to JP for debts; leased JP's sawmill in 1673.
He was a canoeman and a laborer. In 1664, received credit for "Carying Corne... bringing up goods... carying Corne 681 bush from foote of falls... 7 days 1/2 Sawing... ferying.. scowering the ditch... work about the Mill... carying corne to Hartford 390 bush at 4d... bringing up 60 bush of salt... 2 days 3 hands and your Boats fetching hay"
