Notes
General:
Dollittle writes that he was buried in the middle of an unknown outbreak of illness that carried off three members of three generations of the father John's family between February and April of 1560. She implies that he was not married. He left no will. His inventory listed five old sheep and five other sheep, a heifer and a calf, a steer, a bacon sow and some rye. Dollittle thinks that this was not enough to support him for a year and he worked as a laborer or for the lord of the manor part of the time. He owned a little pot, a caudron, two pewter dishes, a mattress, a pair of seets, a bolster and a coffer, his clothing and some cash in his purse.
