General:
Died between 4 Jan 1549/50, when he made his will, and 28 Apr 1551, when it was proved.

John and Agnes Harrison lived in the parish of Waltham Abbey, and apparently were entitled to bear a coat of arms. In 1593 John's son William affixed to the will of his nephew Edward Goldinge, a seal, which "may well have displayed the family's coat of arms. Unfortunately both signature and seal have since been cut from the original will, and thus the seal can no longer be identified."

John Harrison seems ot ahave been related in some way to William Harrison of Waltham Abbey, yeoman, who left a will dated 1596. There were other relatives named, and it mentions his "loving friend" William Cheyney.

His will asked that he be buried in the churchyard of St. Lawrence, and bequeathed:

...to Agnes my welbeloved wiffe my howe lands that I do dwell in for terme of her lyfe & she to paye the quytte Rent to Clacenbery? xd by yere... to William Harryson my Sone all my hoswe land in Upshere Waltham bothe free Copye, (on condition that William pay 23 s 6s 9d to his three sisters, Johanne Cheyney, Slyzabeth Symthson, and Margarett Harryson).. To Elyzabeth Smythson a feather bed adn bedding to be delivered when my wiffe dpartyth the worlde, adn a bullock. To JOhanne Cheyney a bullock, and to Margarett Harryson two keyne (cattle); to John HArrison of London, my best gowne. To sone William cerene Implements in the howse that is to saye my bedde where I do lye my bedde in the parler with all that belonyth thereto... a fornys my grett brasse potte And my brasse panne to be delyvered when my wiffe departyth out of thes hwose. Wife Agnes appointed executrix, to have the residue. William Greene the elder to be over seer.
