The Will of Richard Igulden of Bidyenden in the County of Kent, husbandman, one of the heirs of Jhn Igulden teh elder, late fo Bidynden, deceased, 3 October 1518. My body to eb buried in the churchyard of Bidynden. To the high altar of the said church adn the church of High Halden; to lights, etc.; the friars of Canterbury; for masses, etc. 10 pounds to be equally divided between teh children now living of my sisters Alis, Julyan and Agnes, adn teh children of John Igulden my kinsman, :ordyner". To the friars of Losenham. To the three houses of friars, Austens, Domynyks, and Franncs within Rye and Winchelsey. to the poor men that bear my body to the church. to the children now living of John Yong, Lawrence Fekyn, and Edmond Baker. To Agnes Skyre and Johane Welbe. To John Doggett, Stephen yong, Lawrence Fekyn, and Margaret Springate. Four loads of stone to be laid between y gate and my cousin John Lachenden's barn, and 40 s. to the laying of it. One load f stone between teh church gate adn the church door of bidynden. To said church. To each of my godchildren. To wife Johane, all my household stuff and 10 marks in cattle, et., to discharge my bond of Gorelands. The residue of all goods to the making of a chapel of our lady within the churchyard of Bidynden. Wife and Thomas Castell executors. My brother John Igulden to be overseer. To my daughter Johane Igulden on her day of marraige, or age of twenty-two years whether she be married or no, 10 pounds. A like provision made for my daughter that may be hereafter born. I make William Scott, thomas Castell, John Burdon, and John Igulden my feofees of all my lands and tenements, woods, water, rights etc. If my wife bear me a son, then she to occupy and take the profits of my principal messuage that I now dwell in, with all the houses, gardens and nine pieces of land called the Long Meded, the oylesmede, the little croft, the new felde, Taymet field, containing forty acres and all in Bidyenden upon the Denne of Bidynden, and my messuage and gardens containing one acres upon the Denne of Bidyenden called the Northstreet, until the said son come to teh age of twenty-one years, thenmy fefees to deliver all the said lands and tenements to him. If he die without lawful issue, or if I have no son, then my wfie to haev teh profits of the said lands for life and after her death to my brother John Igulden his heirs and assigns forever. The residue of all lands unbequeathed to be sold by my executors, to perform my will, and if sister Agnes Taylor or her son Richard, if he live to years of discretion, will buy the land, they to have ti at a lower price than any other, except one piece ofladn called Lewetau, lying beside my cousin John thrupp, curate of the said parish, Thomas Lachynden, Lawrence Fekyn, Walter Breckynde, Robert Burdon, John Burdon and Henry Troute.
