Of Woodford, Co Northampton, b abt 1530, m Elizabeth_.. Wayne Barnes identifies her as Elizabeth Lyncoln. No source. Price has he d 1587/88 Woodford. Sam has he d 1589/90 in Peterborough. Jacobus cited his will for March 1589 as the date of his death. Possibly more than one Richard Toothill, but the Puritan dating system makes for the sort of confusion seen here. Jacobus has him supervised will of Richard Beare of Woodford, 3 Nov 1579, witness will of Elizabeth Lyncoln, 1556. Atleast we know that there were Lyncolns around and the Tuttle's had close ties to them; they wree probably closely related to the Tuttle family in some way.
A large number of his daughters failed to marry, leading one to suspect dysfunctional family dynamics. Manic depressive Charlemagne refused to allow his daughters to marry because he was very possessive of them! That is consistent with the sort of behavior William Tuttle exhibited toward his daughters later in Connecticut. Shyness, poor self esteem or low self confidence could also have cause d it though in that time and place it often took just a little more to prevent a girl from marrying.
