The Samuel and Hester (WALLACE) DeARMOND family of Northumberland County, PA |
1. Thomas D. DEARMOND b. 10 Feb 1807 Northumberland Co PA d. 29 Oct 1893 Northumberland Co PA (86) | Thomas was born to Samuel D. and Hester in Northumberland Co PA.
The 1860 census (FamilySearch.org) suggests that Thomas (1807-1893) was 49, born in 1811, rather than in 1807. That is probably an error. With no family data from the FamilySearch.org 1860 census, maybe the age 49 was a typographical error. Thomas's brother Samuel E. was born in 1811. In 1860, Thomas lived in Delaware Twp., Northumberland Co PA.
The 1880 census indicated that at 73, Thomas was single (not widowed) and a retired farmer. Thomas's biography in the History of Northumberland County, Pennsylvania (1891) is brief. After his death in 1893, Thomas was buried at Warrior Run Church Cemetery I-4R with others of the DeArmond family.

FERGUSON b. 20 Sep 1812 PA # (daughter of Andrew Ferguson) d. 1 Nov 1898 (86) | Samuel E. was born in Northumberland Co PA. He was a farmer in the same county, and with his wife Rebecca G. FERGUSON, had 5 children #. Samuel E. and Rebecca had married in 1842. After retiring from farming in 1873, he and Rebecca moved to Watsontown, PA. * In 1850 census, Samuel aged 38 (b 1812) was living in Delaware, Nortumberland Co, PA with wife Rebecca aged 35 (b 1815) and 3 children - Abasa (b 1844), William (b 1845), and Andrew (b 1848) - plus 2 boarders, Jacob Thady (male 20) and Julian Stuart (female 16). * In 1880 census, Samuel, aged 69 (b 1811), lived in Watsontown, Northumberland Co., PA, with 68 year old wife Rebecca (b 1812) and 29 year old Thomas D. (b 1851) and 24 year old Samuel E. (b 1856). Thomas D. DeArmond, son of Samuel and Rebecca DeArmond, was a widowed man, a cattle dealer, and brother of Samuel E. Dearmond, single man with occupation "at home". # NOTE: In 1891, Samuel's biography was printed in the History of Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, and in 1899, Samuel Edward's biography was printed in the Book of Biographies of the Seventeenth Congressional District. These are both for the same Samuel, but have some descrepancies. When the biography says Samuel had 7 children, it refers to Samuel Edward DeArmond's father Samuel D. (1775-1818) and Hesther Wallace DeARMOND. When it says Samuel had 5 children

6. Hester D. DEARMOND b. 1815 d. 1839 (24) | Hester D. was born in Northumberland Co PA. She died in 1839, when she was about 24, and was buried in the family plot at H-8R, in Warrior Run Church Cemetery, Section H.
