"A History and Biographical Cyclopaedia of Butler County Ohio (1882) tells about Squire DeArmond under (Morgan Twp., pp. 437-438):
Some time after Squire Sam died in 1888, his house on Dwyer Road out of Okeana, OH was sold to C. Fred GEORGE and his family. Fred George's daughter, Frances George ERTEL, wrote a high school composition describing the house. Frances also said that Squire Sam and guests did not always hit the spitoon in the main room, and the dark evidence remained on the floor years later, despite many cleanings.
"One of the most prominent men in Butler Co., who held the office of justice of peace for 24 years, was township treasurer for 9 years, & trustee for 2 years, is Samuel DeARMOND, born in Hamilton Co., OH, Nov 15, 1805, & married to Sarah, dau/o Peter & Sarah YOUMANS, Nov 2, 1826. Mrs. DeARMOND was born in Sussex Co., NJ, the 2nd day of Nov 1806. King & Hannah DeARMOND, his father & mother, came to this county in 1807; his wife's father & mother came to Butler Co. in 1815.
Samuel DeARMOND is the father of 7 children:
Hannah ROBINSON, born Feb 6, 1830 -- dead [by 1882];Mr. DeARMOND is a man of iron nerve. During his term as magistrate he never had a decision overruled. He is known throughout the country as "Squire Sam," a title which he won by being a civil officer for a long time. This household has been happy, & is now completing its 54th year of married life."

Margaret DeArmond SIZELOVE was buried in the New London Cemetery in Shandon, OH. Her husband, George Washington SIZELOVE, had been buried there 16 years before. Also buried in New London Cemetery were Laura Florence Sizelove Jeanes, with
Samuel Roll Sizelove buried in Fairlawn Cemetery, in Kentland, IN, possibly children of Margaret and G.W. Sizelove. The husband (Robert Ray Sizelove) of Dolores Deaton Sizelove, buried in New London Cemetery does not seem to be related to Margaret and George W. Sizelove.

John Carnehan DEARMOND first married Mary Shafer and second, Emalinda Jenkins. Emalinda was born 19 January 1853 in Ohio to Elimus and Barbara Wynn Jenkins. Emalinda first married John Rothermal. Second, she married John C. on 13 December 1877. She died 5 September, 1931 in Butler County, Ohio, and was buried at New London Cemetery. John and Emalinda were the parents of Alex Robinson DeArmond, born 5 March 1879 in Ohio. Alex married Emmazetta DeArmond, who was born 19 September in Butler County, Ohio to Joseph and Marietta (HOMMER) DeARMOND. Alex died 6 May 1971 in Hamilton (Butler Co) Ohio, and was buried at Rose Hill Burial Park in Hamilton. | ||||||
Emmazetta (DeArmond) DeArmond was the daughter of Joseph and Marietta HOMMER DeArmond. She was sister of John H. (husband of Ida Jones), David H. (husband of Maude Hileman), Evelyn (wife of Charles Falkenstein), Wilfor (husband of Emma Campbell), James A. (husband of Bessie Glick), Alfred, and Joseph C. DeARMOND. Emmazetta and Alex DeARMOND were parents of Verle wife of Dale JOHNSON. Emmazetta's father, Joseph DeARMOND, was born 19 April 1841 in Butler County OH. His parents were King and Nancy (OWENS) DeARMOND, who were also parents to Armulda (wife of Charles WHITE) and King DeARMOND. Joseph was half brother of Margaret (husband of William FYE), John Alexander, Madison S. (husband of Elizabeth DeARMOND), Robert (husband of Elizabeth BEBB), Rebecca (wife of Boyce KITCHEN), Jane, and Thomas. Joseph married Marietta HOMMER on 28 Mar 1867. They had children: John H. (husband of Ida JONES), David H. (husband of Maude HILEMAN), Evelyn (wife of Charles FALKENSTEIN), Wilford (husband of Emma CAMPBELL), James A. (husband of Bessie GLICK), Emmazetta (wife of Alex R. DeARMOND), Alfred, and Joseph C. DeARMOND. Joseph died 4 December, 1895, and was buried at New London Cemetery.
