James Henry Fitch was born on May 10, 1854 in NY. The 1920 federal census states that both his parents were born in New York state. He had moved west to northwestern Missouri by the time of his marriage in 1878. Allie George was born on August 4, 1855, at home near Whitesville, Andrew Co, MO. Her father's sister and brother-in-law, Annaretta (George) and Hiram St. Clair lived in Whitesville. She was Reuben Andrew and Mary Jane (Hobson) George's first child. Allie's younger brothers and sisters, the George aunts and uncles, were: * Louise "Alice" GEORGE FITCH (1855-1941) * Charles Thomas GEORGE (1858-1938) * William Handley GEORGE (1861-1945) * Enoch Ezra GEORGE (1863-1868) * James Newton GEORGE (1865-1941) * Margaret Ellen GEORGE MATTHEWS LEONARD (1867-1946) * Walter "Reece" GEORGE (1870-1932) * Wesley Reuben GEORGE (1870-1870) * Nancy "Pearl" GEORGE (1874-1964) About 1869-70, Allie's parents and family moved north along the 102 River to homestead an 80 acre farm about 4 miles northeast of Hopkins, MO. On March 21, 1878 Allie married James "Henry" Fitch when she was 22 and he was 23. Henry and Allie had 8 or 9 children:     Claude Dewitt, born 17 March 1879 in MO, had about 6 children.     Earl George, born 1 January 1881 in MO, had about 3 children.     William Reed, born 14 March 1883 in MO, had about 3 children.     Reuben Ray was born 3 May 1885 in MO (1886 per 1900 census).     Henry Norton "Harry", born 14 December 1887 in Steele, ND, had 2 children.     Percy Thomas, born 17 August 1889 in ND, had no children.     Florence, born 14 June 1892 in ND, had 2 children.     Lucy Mary (May), born 16 January 1899 in ND, probably had no children. Allie and Henry may have had one other child. In 1920, the Fitch family was living in Bryant, ND, in Logan County, per the federal census. Henry died on August 23, 1928 in Napoleon, ND, when he was 74. Allie died the 22nd (or 23rd) of May 1941, also in Napoleon, ND, when she was 85.

3. William Reed FITCH     b 14 March 1883     d 27 August 1965 (82)     m 10 May 1914     Marguerite Palkenham     b     d	William Reed Fitch was born on 14 March 1883. He and his wife Marguerite had 3 children. "Reed" may have been a Fitch family name.
4. Reuben Ray FITCH     b 3 May 1885     d 1 September 1961 (76)     never married	Reuben Ray Fitch was born on 3 May 1885. He never married. "Reuben" was a popular George family name, going back at least to Reuben George Sr., born on July 31, 1776.
5. Henry Norton "Harry" FITCH     b 14 December 1887* (ND)     d 30 July 1968 (age 80)     m Fannie E. Foote     b about 1913(SD)     d 30 July 1968 Percy, Harry, Florence Fitch	Harry N. Fitch was born on 14 December 1887 in Steele, ND, per his WWI registration form, June 5, 1917. At the time of his registration for the draft, he was a student at a University in Minneapolis, MN, with no parents and no wife. Later, he married Fannie E. Foote, and had 2 children: * Ray Foote Fitch, born 11 July 1923 in NYC, married Betty Jo Millspaugh. Ray's middle name was his mother's maiden name, Foote. He and Betty Jo had 6 children, and lived in Evanston IL, Muncie IN, Cambridge ENGLAND, Washington DC, Elinendorf AFB AK, San Antonio TX, and Sacramento CA. Ray was a Colonel in the US Air Force. * John Clifford Fitch, born 29 August 1925 in Muncie IN, married Wilmuth Hill. Both boys were living with their parents in Muncie, Delaware Co, IN for the 1930 census, taken April 7. Further information from the census showed that Harry was born in ND (* about 1897, not 1887 per WWI registration), Fannie was born in SD (about 1903), Ray born in NY (1923), and John in IN (1925). The 1967 George Reunion in Richmond, IN was the 50th anniversary of the reunion. In the booklet for that event, the Fitch family was noted: "Later in the 1940's through the letters of Grace Roberts Bias, descendants of Enoch George, who had gone to Missouri in 1850 were found to be living in Muncie, Indiana. Dr. Harry N. Fitch, who was then teaching at Ball State Teachers College, was happy to find so many relatives of his mother Alice G. Fitch near-by. He came often to the reunion, sometimes bringing with him his brother, William Fitch of Washington D.C. and others of his cousins. Dr. Fitch last attended a reunion in 1957, but still sends yearly greetings to the reunion." (page 7) Harry and Fannie both died 30 July 1968, possibly in California.
6. Percy Thomas FITCH     b 17 August 1889     d 21 December 1943 (54)     never married?	Percy Thomas Fitch was born on 17 August 1889. He was still living with his parents for the 1920 census. He is not thought to have married, and had no known children.
7. Florence FITCH     b 14 June 1892?     or 15 June 1891?     d (age )     m 23 August 1920     Lewis O. Davenport     b     d	Florence Fitch was born on 14 June 1892. She was still living with her parents for the 1920 census. She and her husband Lewis had 2 children. They may have lived in Davenport, IA.
8. Lucy Mary (May?) FITCH     b 16 January 1899     d (age )     m 11 September 1942     Alfred W. Junge     b     d	Lucy Mary Fitch was born on 16 January 1899. She was still living with her parents, brother Percy, and sister Florence for the 1920 census. Fourty-three when she married, Lucy and Alfred had no known children.
