BANKER, Dorothy H. age 100, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2006 at
Kingston of Miamisburg. She was born June 11, 1906 in W. Carrollton, the daughter
of the late Ratio & Carrie Hinkson. She was also preceded, in death by her infant
brother Paul and her husband, William E. Banker of W. Carrollton. Dorothy retired in 1971 after teaching Elementary School for 40 years. She taught 14 years at the E.J. Brown School in Dayton, 3 years at the W. Carrollton City Schools and 23 years at the C.F. Holliday Elementary School in Moraine. Although Dorothy had no children of her own, she cherished and nurtured each of her students as if they were her very own.
Dorothy was a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church in W. Carrollton for 90 years, a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma International Teachers Sorority and a prior member of Miamisburg Professional Women's Club. After she retired she lived in Pt. St. Lucie, FL for 30 years and returned to Miamisburg 5 years ago. Dorothy is survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the SWART FUNERAL HOME, W. Carrollton. Rev. Gwinn Lacy officiating. Burial Evergreen Cemetery. HUDSON, Gail (Daubendick) born August 20, 1943, Gail lost her courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, April 24, 2005 at Hospice of Dayton. Born in Indiana, she was raised in West Carrollton from where she graduated in 1961. Gail was preceded in death by her parents Margaret (Wheatly) & Allen Daubendick. A friend, to everyone she met, Gail is survived by her daughter Tamara Jones (Scott) of Plano, TX; 2 sons Daniel Hull (Deanna Donovan) of Olympia, WA and Tony Hull (Jill Hamilton) of Columbus, OH and grandchildren Sydney and Ethan Jones. A lifelong animal lover, she also leaves behind her loyal companions Mickey, Alex and Susie. He is preceded in death by his parents Philip and Mary Hubbard; son Shawn S. Hubbard; and sister Margaret Mellinger. Philip is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Jean Hubbard; children Philip M. Hubbard, wife Ten, Linda Caine, husband Roger, Richard Franklin, wife Cindy Shen, and Matthew J. He graduated from Miami University, Oxford with a bachelor and master degree, had 32 years of teaching experience at West Carrollton Senior High School, was a veteran of the U.S. Army (Sgt) with service in Korean War, member of Fairhaven Church and Dor-wood Optimist Club, and researched the life of George Washington, finding where he stayed everyday during American Revolution.
Funeral Services will be held 11:30AM Friday December 30, 2005 at Fairhaven Church, 637 Whipp Rd.
Family will receive friends one hour prior to services Friday and from 6-9PM Thursday December 29, 2005 all at the church. Pastor Jim Futrell officiating.

He was active member of College Hill Community Church, Presbyterian U.S.A. He graduated from West Carrollton High School, was a 2nd Class Airman with the United States Air Force, received his BA from Central State University, was employed by the Dayton Police Dept (4yrs) 1964 - 1968 and was an original member of the Dayton Police Community Relations Unit, was also employed by WHIO-TV 7 (18 yrs) 1968 - 1986 and received an award as a national winning photographer and was one of the first African-American News Reporters in Dayton, Youth Facilitator with the Wesley Community Center and an Educator with the Dayton Board of Education for 15 years.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Paul David Gates, his nephews, Wm Donnell Stevens, Billy Engram, & two stepsons, Jeffery Love and Craig Love.
He is survived by his loving wife, Gloria (Dixon) Gates, one son, H. David (Necia) Gates, two daughters, Lisa (Gates) McCall and Melanie (Gates) Edmondson, one Stepson, Michael Love, three sisters, Shirley (Gates) (Monte) Robinson, Mary (Gates) Stevens and Joyce (Gates) (William) Engram, eight grandkids, Wm Jeremy McGuire, Kyle McCall, Jordon McCall, Kaiser Gates, Zoryn Gates, Kaz Gates, Jessica Love, and Rontay Love, his favorite nieces and nephews, Cheryl Robinson, Monte Ray Robinson, Joyce (Robinson) Reynolds, Billy (Nancy) Stevens, Patricia Stevens (son, Sean), Sherri Walker (daughter, Kazia), and Brian Engram, In-Laws, Albert and Joyce Dixon, and two very devoted special friends William (Sonny) Johnson and Jerome Wilson and a host of loving relatives and friends.

MAYS Darrel "Wayne", Age 62, of West Carrollton, passed away June 29, 2003.
He was preceded in death by his mother Bertie Mays.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years Kathryn, 4 sons; Richard Mays and wife Londi, William Mays, Robert Mays and wife Lisa, and Randy Mays. He is also survived by his father, Oscar Mays, grandchildren; Sunshine, Wayne, Robby, Zachary, 7 brothers; Kenny, Carl, Gary, David, Danny, Doug, Greg and 3 sisters; Wanda, Allene, Wilma and numerous nieces and nephews.
Wayne owned and operated Gem City Key Shop for the last 40 years.
Funeral services will be held 10:00AM Wednesday, July 2, 2003 at Newcomer Farley Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, Ohio. Visitation will be from 6:00PM until 8:00PM Tuesday, July 1, 2003. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
