New London Alliance Church History

The Lord placed a burden in the heart of Mrs. Mabel Ketchum in 1948 for the establishment of a Christian & Missionary Alliance Church in New London, Ohio. In due course, an empty church on James Street was secured for use. While the church on James Street was secured for use, the small group of Christians met in various homes for prayer and preparation for the formal establishment of a C&MA church.

The first morning worhip services were held on Sunday, February 24, 1952. On the day of dedication, March 23rd, the District Superintendent encouraged the people with the promise of Jesus in Matthew 16:18: ...upon this rock I will build my church and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.

Since those early days, the New London Alliance Church experienced significant changes. The church relocated to this present site on June 30, 1974, in response to the growth of the membership under its chosen pastors. In 2002 we celebrated 50 years of ministry to the New London community. The hymn, To God Be The Glory, could easily be the theme song of the church for it truly states that it is God who deserves all the credit and praise.
