Barry Johnson's Milford Trawlers website has a database of many vessels registered in Milford. Local newspaper transcriptions referring not only to fishermen and trawler owners or managers, but also to dock workers, policemen, magistrates, solicitors, vicars, doctors and relations of crew members.
It may also of use to local historians, who can now search by place and
street names, occupations and specific dates.

  • Account Books for Pembroke Borough, 1770 - 1789, 1811 - 1820 and 1824 -1835. subjects include Pembroke Gaol, public punishment stocks, named apprentices and parish relief, lease of borough land and property, payment to named trades people of Monkton and Pembroke.
  • Burgesses of Pembroke borough1678 to 2006.  Approx 12,000 names, both UK and overseas.
  • Burgesses and Freemen of  Pembroke borough 1711 - 2006. 4,850 names, occupations and residence.
  • Crunwere All Censuses 1841 - 1901 for the village.
  • Innkeepers. Index of known Hostlers, Hotel Keepers Publicans Innkeepers & Tavernkeepers in Pembrokeshire in 1841
  • Minutes of Pembroke Borough 1678 - 1813 Many extracts of named persons such as Sergeants at Arms, contributors to the King's ships, those bound over to keep the peace, constables of wards etc.
  • Military Headstones Index of Military related headstones from Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire borders. Approx 1,100 photographed headstones and research covering period 1745 - 2006
  • Moncton (Monkton) land tax returns 1790 - 1831.
  • Wills 1600 - 1858. Indexes of all, beneficiaries, Executors, Witnesses, and place names mentioned in relation to Testators resident in the following parishes:
    Amroth, Crunwere (Online index), Kyffig, Lamphey, Ludchurch, Manorbier, Marros,  Rhoscrowther, St Issells
    People and places mentioned cover West to North and South Wales to Oxfordshire and Berkshire, and do NOT relate only to the parish shown above. Total entries for all parish currently indexed approximate 8,500 names mainly covering the Counties of Pembroke, Carmarthen, & Glamorgan.
  • Wills for Pembroke Town 1600 - 1700 (as of April 2008) this also covers wills that are listed as Pembroke or  Pembrokeshire without any Parish so can be from anywhere. Places, relationships, executors, witnesses and property.
Owen Vaughan
Dyfed FHS site lists the parishes, churches, and chapels, within the three counties of Dyfed. It contains all those currently identified, by the National Library of Wales, where the location of registers is known. Each entry gives the OS National Grid Reference and name of the church or chapel, if known, (religious denomination), parish, county code and (page name). .
Whitchurch area. 1840 Tythe map which includes Solva. It has a schedule with landowners, occupiers, name and description of premises - very limited, state of cultivation, quantities in statute measures and amount of rent/charge. Some of it is difficult to read. Some of the entries are things like - house and garden - or little meadow, pasture However, a few of the 'homesteads' are named, it also shows who were the landowners of the time. Jenny Anderton

Cofnodion Canrif, a diary of life at Penwaun Primary School, Tanglwst, in the parish of Cilrhedyn which includes references to all previous Headmasters and teachers, past pupils from 1874 onwards. The school closed in 1980. Sian Bowi
Llanfyrnach Parish Lore by ET Lewis of  Mynachlog-ddu printed by CI Thomas of Haverfordwest. A comprehensive parish history of 143 pages with photos ,  contains all sorts of snippets relating to the churches, schools, industry, tradespeople, place-names, incomes, prices, etc. and 18 pages of brief biographical notes on selected individuals, mostly from the 19th and early 20th centuries, including 19 Davieses. There is a list of 18th century tradespeople and there are a lot of passing references to people taken from vestry books, monuments, etc.
